Dust, gold light and the herd walking home.
In Indian tradition, godhuli is the hour when cows walk home and the dust they raise catches the evening light. It is considered one of the most auspicious moments of the day. At Kapila Park, visitors can still watch it happen.
The park shelters around 700 cows, calves and bulls, many of them Kapila cows. Most roam free, and visitors describe them as gentle enough to stroke. Everything here is run on a non-profit basis. Mr. Prakash Shetty is the owner and also the only worker, caring for the whole herd himself.

Cows are equal to the gods.
If we respect the gods, we must respect the cows too. In Hindu tradition, every deva is said to dwell in the cow. Here at Kapila Park, that belief shapes each day: the herd is cared for with devotion, never treated as livestock.
Words about the cow.
The cow to me means the entire sub-human world. Man through the cow is enjoined to realise his identity with all that lives.
Mahatma Gandhi
गावो विश्वस्य मातरः
Cows are the mothers of the world.
Sanskrit saying
The Rigveda calls the cow aghnya: the one who must never be harmed.
Vedic tradition
Come and spend an evening with the herd.

Help look after the herd.
Feeding and caring for around 700 animals, with one person doing all the work, depends on people who give. Any amount helps. You can scan the UPI code or transfer directly to the goshala's bank account.
